Chris Masters is in his seventh year as an assistant sports information director at Notre Dame. He is the primary media contact for the Irish women's basketball and men's golf programs, and also serves as the on-site content manager for the official Notre Dame athletics web site (UND.com).

During his tenure under the Golden Dome, Masters has promoted four basketball All-Americans, worked with six BIG EAST Conference championship teams and earned 10 regional or national citations for his publications from the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA). In addition, he has worked as a play-by-play announcer for Internet radio/television broadcasts of several Notre Dame sporting events, and he has worked on the media relations staff at seven of the past 10 NCAA Women's Final Fours.

Prior to coming to Notre Dame, Masters spent three years as assistant sports information director at Western Kentucky University from 1998-2001, serving as the contact for the Lady Topper women¹s basketball and volleyball teams. He also spent time as the department's publications coordinator, assisted in the development of WKU's athletics web site, served as media relations coordinator for the 2000 Sun Belt Conference women's basketball tournament and filled in as color analyst for radio broadcasts of WKU women's basketball road games.

Masters is a 1996 graduate of Ohio Wesleyan University with a bachelor's degree in journalism and politics & government. In 1998, he earned his master's degree in mass communications (public relations emphasis) from Kansas State University.

An active member of CoSIDA since 1996, Masters is in his 10th year as a district coordinator on that organization's Academic All-America Committee.

Born May 2, 1974, in San Francisco, Calif., Masters now makes his home in Mishawaka.
