Two-time Academic All-American who played valuable four-year role as top lefthanded reliever on Notre Dame pitching staff ... won 10 of 12 career decisions, with a 4.04 ERA in 66 appearances (eight starts) ... totaled 58 strikeouts and 31 walks in 124.2 innings pitched ... solid all-around athlete who earned a spot as a walk-on after strong showing in 1997 fall tryouts ... named to the Dean's List in all eight of his semesters at Notre Dame, graduating with a 3.92 cumulative GPA as a science pre-professional major - including 4.0 GPAs in the spring of '98, spring of '99 and fall of '99 ... earned third team Academic All-America honors in 2000 before becoming one of 11 first-team selections in 2001 ... joined outfielder Dan Peltier ('87-'88) and first baseman Joe Binkiewicz ('91-'92) as third Notre Dame baseball player to repeat as an Academic All-American (he was the eighth first-team selection, with that group including his former teammate Jeff Perconte) ... currently attending the prestigious Baylor Medical School in Houston, Texas.

AS A JUNIOR: Garnered third team Academic All-America honors, with Perconte named first team ... only lefthander on staff that finished 16th in nation for team ERA (3.93) ... made 24 appearances (ninth in Irish history, fourth among 2000 BIG EAST players), ranking second on team with a 3.48 ERA, plus 2-1 record, one save, 17 Ks and seven walks in 33.2 IP ... allowed just 1.87 walks/9 IP (best on staff) ... helped post 5-0 shutout of Central Michigan (2.2 IP, 4 H, 3 Ks) ... registered 10-3 win over Detroit (4.2 IP, 2 H, UER, 3 Ks) ... saved 12-1 win over Boston College (3 IP, 4 H) ... credited with 9-6 win over Cleveland State, recording final out of 7th inning (2 H, UER).
