Begins his second season at Notre Dame ... joined on this years golf roster by his younger brother, Andrew, who is an Irish freshman this season ... has a career average of 74.90 which ranks fifth overall since 1954 ... has had 33 of his 40 rounds counted towards team scoring at Notre Dame ... played his first season for the Irish in 1999-00 after transferring from Saint Louis University ... followed lead of his brother Willie, who also transferred to Notre Dame from Saint Louis University (Willie enrolled at Notre Dame in the 1998 spring semester) ... took a semester off in fall of 98 before enrolling at Notre Dame for 99 semester (he did not play with the Irish until the fall of 99) ... his talent level is similar to his brother Willie, who posted a 74.55 stroke average, two medalist finishes and two runner-up finishes in 17 career tournaments with the Irish ... longest hitter on a talented Irish squad, with a unique swing that is tight and compact ... has benefitted from the competition on the Notre Dame team while making strides in his overall consistency and mental toughness ... considered attending law school in his native Paraguay before enrolling at SLU ... has several relatives throughout the Midwest ... part of one of Paraguays most well-known golfing families, as his grandfather Donald Kent is a former U.S. Ambassador and helped construct the first golf course in Paraguay (Asuncion Golf Club) ... his father Richard Kent is a +3-handicap golfer who previously played in the prestigious Paco Rabanne (an event similar to the Ryder Cup, with players from South America versus European counterparts) ... Richard Kent also is a former playing partner of Carlos Franco (the 1999 PGA rookie of the year) and has built two courses of his own, the Yacht y Golf Club and the Parana Country Club (located near the Brazil border, 200 miles from Asuncion) ... Teams with Steve Ratay to give the Irish a great one-two punch ... second in the fall with a 73.92 stroke average ... had all 12 fall rounds count to team scoring ... had four rounds of par or better, nine of 75 or lower and no rounds of 80 (shot two rounds of 79) ... finished second in Notre Dames first three tournaments before being top Irish finisher at Legends of Indiana to end the fall season ... opened the fall with a 23rd place finish at the Wisconsin Invitational shooting a six-over par 222 (74-74-74) to help Irish to a fourth place finish ... shot a 229 (79-74-76) to finish 24th at Minnesota Invitational ... turned in a 21st place finish at the Northern Intercollegiate by shooting rounds of 79, 75 and 72 ... closed the fall by setting Notre Dames 54-hole record with a six-under par 210 while finishing fourth at the Legends of Indiana Intercollegiate ... fired a five-under par 67 (third-best single round score at Notre Dame) opening round ... followed that with rounds of 71 and 72 ... 210 total was second lowest 54-hole total score in Notre Dame history ... started the fall by winning the Campus Tournament by three strokes over Kyle Monfort with a one-over par 289 (77-67-75-70) at the new Warren Golf Course.

Ranked third on team with a 75.32 stroke average in 28 rounds for the season ... counted to team score in 21 of those 28 rounds ... shot par or lower three times and 75 or lower in 14 rounds while shooting 80 or higher just four times ... had a solid debut at the Air Force Invitational tying for 26th with a six-over par 222 (74-73-75) helping Irish to a record-setting tournament title ... tied for sixth at Legends of Indiana Intercollegiate, helping Irish post their second straight first-place finish ...fired a one-over par 217 (72-76-69) to finish second among Irish golfers ... tied for 29th at the Xavier Invitational with a 54-hole total of 224 (77-70-77) ... closed the fall with a 14th place finish at the Louisville Intercollegiate firing a 36-hole total of 150 (74-76) ... started spring by tying for seventh at the Treasure Coast Classic with a 226 (75-78-73) as the Irish finished second in a field of 15 teams ... struggled at the Kentucky Invitational finishing 78th in a field of 90 with a 237 (76-82-89) ... tied for 56th at Marshall Invitational with a 229 (73-78-78) ... tied Vernon for top team finish (33rd in field of 90) at the Ohio State Intercollegiate with a 230 (74076-80) ... tied for 60th at the Akron Intercollegiate with a 232 (74-76-82) ... closed his junior year with All-BIG EAST honors as he tied for fifth at the BIG EAST Championship held at the Warren Golf Course ... fired a 36-hole total of three-over par 145 with an opening round 78 ... followed that with a three-under par 68 giving him three of the 13 lowest single round scores at Notre Dame since 1962 ... opened his first season with the Irish by finishing fourth at the fall of 99 Campus Championship at Blackthorn Golf Club shooting a 72-hole total of 302 (77-75-76-74).
AT SAINT LOUIS:
Two-year member of varsity golf team ... played five tournaments in spring of 97, averaging 78.79 strokes over 14 rounds ... posted 231 (78-75-78) at South Florida before a solid 149 (72-77) at Missouri-Saint Louis tournament ... closed with 243 (73-76-94) at Southwest Missouri State tournament, a 251 (86-86-79) at Saint Louis University Invitational and a 229 (78-75-76) at Conference USA Championship ... played 10 tournaments in 97-98, averaging 77.83 strokes over 29 rounds ... shot 238 (80-83-76) at Air Force Invitational, 232 (75-78-79) at the Kansas Invitational and a 232 (78-76-78) at the Illinois State Intercollegiate ... closed fall with 240 (82-82-76) at the Bradley Invitational and a 157 (78-79) at Louisville Intercollegiate ... his spring of 98 outings included a 233 at the South Florida tournament, a 239 at the Golden Ocala Intercollegiate and a 240 at the Southwest Missouri State tournament ... posted a medalist finish at the Saint Louis University Energizer Invitational, with a 54-hole total of 213 with delivering rounds of 74-68-71 to finish atop the 100-golfer field ... closed out the season with a 241 at the Conference USA Championship.
