Trip to Ireland

Once again the luggage proved to be a problem during the trip from the airport to the motel, but the creativity of bus driver Eoin - a colorful local with quite an Irish accent - was up to the challenge, as the emergency exit compartments provided just the extra space needed. Sophomore Louis Cavadini and assistant coach Matt Tallman helped unpack the bags when the team reached the Travelodge in Castleknock, on the north side of Dublin.

Notre Dame's 47-member travel party first convened on Wednesday afternoon at the Rolfs Aquatic Center to bus to O'Hare International Airport in Chicago. It soon became apparent that the Irish, with all of their training equipment and clothing for the 12-day venture, would have difficulty with an overabundance of luggage. The hurdle was initially dealt with by stacking excess bags in the aisle of the bus.
