The National Champion women's soccer team got together one last time on Friday, May 13, when it traveled to Washington, D.C., to visit the White House as one of four national-championship squads to be recognized by President George W. Bush.

(from left) Kim Lorenzen, Lizzie Reed, Claire Gallerano and the rest of the Notre Dame travel party were hosted by the staff of Indiana congressman Chris Chocola at a Capitol Hill breakfast (Chocola was unable to attend, as he was back in his home state). California Congressman and Notre Dame graduate Daniel Lungren ('68) formally welcomes the Notre Dame contingent to the morning breakfast. The Notre Dame contingent toured many of The Capitol building's sites, including the National Statuary Hall (The Old Hall of the House). The Capitol Rotunda Dome includes a striking combination of sculpture, artwork and architecture. The intricately-detailed top of the Capitol Rotunda Dome.
