October 26, 1996 Irish Fall In Opener to ArizonaTuscon, Ariz. -- Notre Dame's women's swimming and diving team dropped its season-opening dual match at Pacific-10 power Arizona Saturday. The Wildcats edged the Irish by a 63-50 count in chilly conditions at Arizona's outdoor Hillenbrand Aquatic Center. The Irish, who were coming off a win at the Notre Dame relays on October 11, fell to 0-1 in their first dual match of the season, while Arizona is 1-0.Notre Dame's women's swimming and diving team returns to the pool when it travels to Chestnut Hill, Mass. for a dual meet against BIG EAST foe Boston College. The home opener for the Irish will be Friday, Nov. 8 when BIG EAST opponent Pittsburgh travels to Notre Dame for a 5 p.m. dual meet at Rolfs Aquatic Center.
